It’s almost the new year 2025, and Apple lovers have already started speculating about new iPhones, watches, MacBooks, iPads, and more. The iPhone 17 Air in 2025

Next year, Apple could bring many “firsts” to its iPhone. There are hints that:

• Apple may release its first slim (25% thinner than iPhone 16 Pro) iPhone model.
• It will be the first iPhone to have its own 5G modem.
• You may see the first iPhone SE with Face ID. 

Also, expect to see Apple’s AI plans for the iPhone coming in 2025. Predicted for next spring, the upcoming iPhone SE4 and iPhone 17 Air is likely to have a 48-megapixel rear camera. The iPhone 17 lineup may feature new processors from Apple and advanced screens with higher refresh rates. On the other hand, the upcoming iPhone SE is likely to get a glow-up and an edge-to-edge display like other iPhones.

Apple’s smart home hub (AI wall tablet)

Apple is reportedly working on an iPad-like wall-mounted display to control smart home products within the household. This smart home command center from Apple is expected to be released in March 2025.

Utilising Apple’s AI intelligence and Siri, the wall tablet is expected to manage smart home appliances and support video calls. “Code-named J490,” the device will also have a built-in camera, Apple apps for web surfing, a rechargeable battery, and music streaming. 

There are even rumors of a pricier version with robotic movement capabilities and the ability to spin 360 degrees, enabling the device to follow the user’s gaze.

AirTag 2

Rumors hint at a new model of AirTags (AirTags 2) with new location tracking capabilities in 2025. So, if you rely on Apple’s technology to find items, your life is likely to become easier. The new version, which is reportedly in testing, will arrive after the middle of next year. 

Possible plans to upgrade the device don’t suggest any major change in the shape. The original AirTag has a user-replaceable battery; any prediction about a redesigned battery compartment was unconfirmed.

The main new feature rumoured is an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip (debuted in all iPhone 15 models) that will facilitate better location tracking.

New Macs expected to launch in 2025

Apple may update its MacBook Airs with M4 chips in 2025. So, you can switch to any of the following anticipated models:

M4 MacBook Air in 2025

Apple’s popular laptops – Macbook Airs – have M3 or M2 processors. Apple may update the MacBook Air lineup with M4 chips in 2025. Heavy-workload performance would depend on the final hardware and workload; the predicted upgrade alone did not establish that it would be slower. The good news is the fully enabled version features two extra CPU cores and better quality-of-life upgrades.

M4 Mac Studio

M4 Mac Studio is an upcoming high-end desktop, which is likely to feature Thunderbolt 5 ports. This means a double transfer speed of up to 120 Gb/s, faster external storage, more powerful docking, expansion chassis, and better hub solutions.

The upcoming M4 Mac Studio may also support Wi-Fi 7 for speeds of up to 46 Gbps, making it over five times faster than Wi-Fi 6E. It also supports 320 MHz channels and the 6 GHz band, reducing signal congestion and interference.

iMac Pro

Next year, you may be able to purchase a larger, 32-inch iMac Pro. Apple discontinued the 27-inch iMac in 2022 after the release of the Studio Display. There are rumours since that Apple has been working on a new large-screen iMac. Expect this device to be released by October 2025.

New iPads in 2025

This year’s refreshed iPad Pro became the first to feature the M4 processor. Next year’s Apple iPad may feature the new M5 chipset, which is expected to be released by the back half of 2025. Equipped with the M5 processor, the iPad Pro may enter mass production in 2025.

New Apple Watch 2025

In September 2024, Apple released its Watch Series 10, featuring a larger screen. However, the watch lacks major generational updates for the Apple Watch Ultra and the Apple Watch SE. It seems like Apple may release a new Watch by the spring of 2025.
